Glass Bottle Coke and Thomas Kemper

Does Coke taste better from a glass bottle? I think so. Might it just be my perception? Perhaps. It might even just be the feeling of cold glass against my lips, or feeling the cool liquid slide through the neck of the bottle. Whatever it is, when I think of drinking soda from a bottle that has been sitting in a tub of ice it's a lot more appealing to me. It invokes childhood memories of happy times, it feels good in my hand. It feels somehow sophisticated to have to open it with a bottle opener.

We don't just stop there either. We share the joys of our history with soda's. Thomas Kemper is my personal favorite root beer, and I've tasted over 25 varieties. From home made to little known brands. There are some really great tasting root beers our there, and some with complex and brilliant flavor. Thomas Kemper wins my fav because of it's accessibility. It's one of the only gourmet root beers that can be found with relative ease. It has a subtle and complex flavor that has a great mouth taste that lingers in the mouth. It's not over sweetened like IBC and other popular brands.

We recommend Coca-Cola with it's robust flavor for the stronger curries, like Vindaloo and Jalfrezi. For the lighter flavors we would pair the Thomas Kemper, although TK can hold it's own against the robust and complex flavors of any of our dishes. We are looking at adding bottled orange soda, as it pairs well with the lighter flavored dishes like the Chicken Curry, which has a bit of coconut and Southern (India) flavor in it.
